  1. Adolf Hitler’s party became the largest political party and he became their leader. Hitler hated the Jews because when he was younger he thought that they were ruining Germany by taking over all their jobs and introducing their way of life. Therefore when he was leader he treated them very badly. He had all the books written by Jews burnt and if any of them protested then they would get sent to a concentration camp and be tortured. He also banned Jazz music because it was mainly played by black musicians.
He thought of the Germans as a superior race. This meant that he didn’t want the Germans to look bad. He went as far as destroying a war film just because it showed a drunken German sailor.
Hitler was also sexist as he thought that women’s most important job was having lots of children, especially boys. He even gave women money which he thought would encourage women to have money. If they didn’t have any children by a certain age then they were sent to get married by soldiers, even married ones.
Hitler was a murderous man. By 1939 thanks to him there were over 100,000 people that had been put in prison for “anti-Hitler crimes”. He introduced a death penalty for anyone who told an anti-Hitler joke. He had 720,000 mentally ill people gassed and over 5000 mentally impaired babies killed.
In 1935 7million people were unemployed but when Hitler became leader he made sure that everyone had a job so by 1939 there was no one unemployed. However not all business was good and they weren’t allowed to say it was bad either. For example a woman was overheard saying “business was bad”, she was then sent away to a concentration camp. Hitler thought this would then make an example so people learnt not to say anything bad because they knew this would then happen to them. Even children were encouraged to tell on teachers and even their parents if they said something that wasn’t allowed. Gestapo and the secret Police were the two groups that listened out for any negative comments or opinions and then took them away.
Hitler thought that the young were important to him because they might be needed in the future so it was best that they thought him and the Nazis were the best thing that happened to Germany. He even introduced Hitler youth camps for the rich and poor where they learnt military stuff.

  2. Adolf Hitler 1933 to 1945

    How did he control Germany?
Hitler saw Germany was in ‘Depression’ and he wanted to help it and ‘make sense’ of Germany. People trusted and believed in him and Nazi party and believed they could do no wrong. By 1939 there was no unemployment in Germany. That was when people started to question the glory.
Once Hitler was in power he began to terrorize the people of Germany. If anyone said anything bad about Hitler or the Nazi party they would be sent away for‘re-education’. Which basically means they would be beaten until they ‘understood, the master race and, what was right’ they would be sent away to a concentration camp. The secret police and a unit named Gestapo would re-educate these people. Furthermore, Gestapo had the right to arrest anyone for any reason at all.
Women weren’t allowed to work, they had to stay at home and clean, cook and have at least four children.

    Controlling Young People

Hitler controlled young people/ children by the ‘Hitler Youth’. This was the ‘club’ where boys would learn how to fight for an army and girls would learn how to cook, clean, sew and look after children.
Also, teachers had to be part of the Nazi party and textbooks were re-written by Nazis. German children would learn how to spot the ‘Jewish enemy’ and would learn all positive history of Germany, about military planes and how Germans were the master race and everyone else was inferior.
German children were literally being brainwashed into thinking the Germans were superior and everyone else was the enemy.

    Propaganda
Hitler’s propaganda minister was Paul Josef Goebbels. He organized rallies, on every occasion possible, which would show off Germany’s military strengths. These would be broadcasted throughout America and Europe to frighten opposing countries. Over 100,000 people would attend the rallies. Goebbels also produced News reels and posters to advertise Hitler and the Nazi party.
    Discrimination against Jews
Hitler hated Jews, gypsies, Russians and disabled people. He had 270,000 disabled people killed and 5000 disabled babies.
Hitler also created concentration camps and extermination camps. Auschwitz was the largest and was built to exterminate the entire Jewish race. It was called: The Final Solution.
    Nazi Achievements
The Nazi party did achieve and produce great things in Germany. Within 6 months they were in control of everything but the armed forces. In every village there was a boy’s club, women’s club, card and chess clubs and many sports organizations. They gave a job to 7 million previously unemployed people.

  3. Hitler became chancellor in Germany in January 1933.
He then instantly promised Germany to be a superior country within Europe. He wanted to change everything and he could because he had Germany in the palm of his hand.
By 1934 Hitler was completely controlling Germany and anyone who disobeyed him was sent straight to concentration camp where they were taught to follow him and his rules.
Despite this he gave over 7 million people that were unemployed a job and every soldier of his a house he then convinced men and women to have at least four children so that the men could work while the women stay at home and clean, look after children and do chores.

By 1935 Hitler had rebuilt Berlin and other cities, they said they could leave doors unlocked and nothing would happen, which means crime had obviously gone down due to the concentration camps.
He also built new roads which people thought was a good idea; however these roads were built so that Hitler’s tanks could get to places quicker and easier rather than being built for the people of Germany.

Hitler then brought in laws, for example, anyone who mocked him was killed this was to show other people the consequences of disobeying him. Jews were sacked from their jobs and extradited from society because Hitler hated an impure race and hated people who followed the Jewish religion.
Hitler also loved the younger generation obeying him because the younger the better, he could train them up to be the best of the best. They were more easily influenced and easier to control than older citizens.

Hitler destroyed all textbooks and made new ones on how he thought German children should be taught. Hitler and the Nazi party had full control over the press they could include all types of propaganda and use the national press as a weapon over the public. Hitler also spread his laws over radio and through word of mouth.

Hitler also introduced the youth movement, this is where the young people were trained to be good Nazis and obey him, and he taught them to stitch people up whoever talked or mocked Hitler or his Nazis.

In the textbooks the boys where trained to be good soldiers and could go to a camp where they would fight and wrestle, after the camp they would come back fit and ready to battle later in life.
The women were trained to stay at home and be good wives and mothers by cleaning and looking after children.

  4. Hitler was born on the 20th April 1889 in Braunau a small town in Austria. Even though he believed that only Germans should live on German soil and that foreigners like him are ruining everything.
Germany was ruined there was unemployment all over the place but by 1939 unemployment was gone. People were working everywhere whether it is building roads to carpeting, somebody was doing something. He rebuilt Berlin and made Germany a great place people could leave their belongings unattended, rape and other crime had vanished, but that is only half of it. German people did not realise that Hitler was manipulating their minds, using them to do what he wants. If people refused the Nazis would either execute them or send them to concentration camps, Concentration camps were camps that the Jewish, Gypsy, or other people were forced to go to, to be tortured or forced to do work. Adolf Hitler and the German Nazi Soldiers did not like those kinds of people so they decided to put them in camps, called Concentration camps. They put them in these camps mostly because of their looks and their religion. The camps were built to fit many people in them. Death was daily. They also had many bunk beds to save room. The moral of concentration camps is don’t say bad things about Hitler or the Nazis.
Nazis had taken over everything; Textbooks for kids were re-written they had taken over the radios and all newspapers. The Brown shirts were hired bodyguards who beat people up for saying bad things. By 1934 the Nazis had 50,000 highly trained men.

  5. Adolf Hitler’s work from 1933-1939
Before Adolf Hitler became Prime Minister, 7 Million people were out of work. The great depression had gripped Germany and money practically had no value. Germany was a democracy, and the vote was split. Adolf Hitler, the leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (in German) or Nazi for short. Offered for Germany to become a dictatorship, Germany agreed. Hitler made Germany great again; he made work for everyone, and took Germany out of the great depression. However, the population of Germany paid the price for Hitler’s rule.
Hitler punished anybody who spoke out against him, or spoke out against the Nazis. Anybody who didn’t hold Nazi views was punished; anybody who said that anything was wrong with Germany, or business, or life, was punished. The way Hitler punished people was by putting them into “re-educational” camps, a British invention, also known as concentration camps, and had Nazi views beaten into them.
Hitler changed Education, he taught young children to believe in the Nazi way. Hitler made girls learn about how to look after children, and do general housework. He made the boys do lots of PE. Hitler changed all the questions so that they crated hatred toward foreigners, especially Jews. Hitler made most of Germany racist, and made anti-Jew laws. Most of the questions in school had to do with killing Jews or the trajectory of bullets or bombs. Hitler was creating an Army.
Hitler practically owned the media. He used propaganda to promote the Nazi way. Anything bad about the government wasn’t included in the newspaper. For example, in 1934, Hitler killed 400 of his top “Brownshirts”, Hitler’s private army, because he suspected treason. None of this made it into any German newspapers, but the rest of the world picked up on it. Hitler owned all of Germany, from the lowliest commoners to the richest business men, no-one in Germany was safe.

  6. Full Name – Adolf Hitler had no middle name, therefore his legal name was Adolf Hitler.
    Born - 20th April 1889, Austria-Hungary
Died - 30th April 1945 (aged 56) from suicide, Berlin
Family - Alois Hitler- Father. Klara Pölzl- Mother. Hilter was the 4th of six children.
    Spouse - Eva Braun
Nationality - Austrian (He changed to German in 1932)
    His Beliefs –
    • All Germans should be united in one country.
    • Germany should be bigger.
    • Racial minority groups (e.g. Jews) should be got rid of.
    • Germany should have a stronger economy
    • Individual people shouldn’t have rights
    The Story -
In 1905 Hitler failed his exams and left school. Two years later, his Mum died and he decided to go to Vienna. Whilst living in Vienna, Hitler began to hate foreigners, especially Jews, because he felt like they were ruining Austria by taking all the jobs. Hitler failed to get a place in the Vienna art academy; he couldn’t draw people very well. In 1915 Hitler volunteered to be in the German army and that was just the beginning of his reign.
Adolf Hitler was asked to become chancellor in 1933. Soon afterwards the president of Germany died. Hitler made himself chancellor AND president. He began to call himself Führer (supreme leader).
Hitler started to change things quickly when he became president.
When he first started Germany was in a great depression with 7 million people unemployed. Soon after Hitler took charge, nobody was unemployed. He even built roads and motorways that are still in use today, and he also re-built Berlin. He also built the army back up, he said he was arming Germany up for defence, not for war, but he trained Bombers secretly in Spain and Russia.
However, not everything that Hitler did was good. Hitler said that the master race was pure Germans – or Aryans. He said that the inferior were people like Jews, Gypsies, Slavs and Black People.
People who were disabled in any way were also targets for Hitler as he believed they damaged the purity of the German race.
German’s were being tricked and many were terrified of Hitler. Political Parties that once faced the Nazi’s were banned, and many of their leaders fled the country. In March 1933, the first concentration camps began, and wages decreased. On June 30th 1944, Hitler killed 400 Brown shirts that helped him rise. Secret Police carried out arrests, nobody was allowed to say badly of Hitler, nobody trust one another.
Hitler had gone insane with power, that if you said something badly about the government or Nazis, that they sent you to concentration camps, or you were re-educated, which is basically being tortured until you saw the Nazi way. Soon, you had to be a Nazi to be a Judge, Solicitor, Doctor, Teacher, etc. Hitler convinced the Germans that war would make the Germans strong.
They didn’t care how old you were, if you had done/said something bad about Hitler or the Nazis you were punished.
Propaganda + censorship were vital to the success of the Nazi Sate because they helped make sure that people supported Nazi ideas.
Posters were a way of giving ideas. Images of Hitler as a wise leader appeared in all poster campaigns. Radio was also used. Germany had more radios per head of population than any other country in Europe. The Nazis used to broadcast Hitler’s speeches on the radio.

  7. Hitler
What life was like after Hitler and the Nazis?

When Hitler and the Nazis took over life was horrible and everyone had to follow and do exactly what Hitler said and lead.

In the schools the teachers had to teach young children that Jews were bad people and it was their fault for the evil that happened.

Before Hitler took power over Germany it was governed by the first democratic government in Germany but then in 1933 Hitler took power.

Hitler believed that only pure races with blue eyes and blond hair was believed to be perfects human beings and humans such as Jews, quarter/half cast, blacks ECT should not have children and people with disabilities should be put to their death.

Hitler also believed that by gaining ultimate power he could successfully achieve his goal of sustaining the purity of the Aryan race. His first move was to over throw the German government; he did this by asking for power above of the usual leader. They gave Hitler the power and he abolished the government right away after they gave him that.

He strived to create purity in the German nation. He eliminated six million Jews and one million other ‘’undesirable’’ to nix the chances of cross-breeding’’ between Aryans and non-Aryans, such as Jews. Hitler believed that the strong should survive and the weakest should not be allowed a chance of life, which he demonstrated with concentration camps such as Auschwitz.

If a Jew sat on a bench it was obvious as the Nazis painted it yellow, if a bench was not yellow Jews were not allowed to be seated on them.
